What is a Movie Magazine?
A movie magazine is dedicated to giving their readers information on the latest and greatest movies.

- Reviews
- Interviews
- Posters
- Movie News
Many different types of movie magazines are available suiting to each individual taste, such as Scream Magazine is fully focused on horror films, however most movie magazines are generalised and feature a variety of different film genres. The most famous film magazines are:
Using Photoshop
I am now beginning to learn the different aspects of photoshop such as blending photos together on their different layers and editing each different layer.
Tagline
Tagline: 'secrets are made to be found out with time'
I have decided to use this an my tagline as this tells the audience that the story is based around a secret which will eventually be revealed. This will draw them into wanting to find out what the secret is.
The tagline links with the trailer because the trailer shows the girl is kidnapped with the texts giving the impression it could be someone she knows therefore this could possibly be the secret.

Magazine Cover Ideas
For the magazine cover I aim to have the main character shown on the cover as well as a location linked to the film, I am going to take a few different types of photos on the photoshoot to see which style works best. The different types I am thinking of at the moment are a long shot with the character placed in the middle of the scene, a close up shot of the victim & a location shot.
Poster Moodboard
I have used this moodboard to put a collection of horror thriller movie posters together. I can use these as inspiration as I can see them collectively. Almost every poster here (except for 3) have located the film name at the bottom of the poster, those who havent have somehow encorporated the name within the image or placed it so it doesn't cover too much of the image. The posters are all relatively simple in comprarrison to a comedy movie poster. The colour schemes tend to be white, red and black, other colours included are all darker colours such as browns or dark oranges. The taglines are mostly located at the bottom of the page underneath or above the title. Any important aspects of the posters are placed centrally to draw attention and focus. This is a horror/thriller movie convention, compared to a comedy or drama where in the grid the focus points are placed on either the left or right side. A lot of editing has been used on these pictures, most likely using layers on photoshop. For example: The Grey poster has used a photo layer of the character with a layer of a photo of snow over the top. By blending these together it looks like one whole photo.

Movie Name
After asking a section of my target audience for movie name suggestions and then to pick their favourite, the final name I have decided on is 'Dead Man Walking'. It is simple and doesn't give away too much of the films storyline but has the ability to work for many different storylines. This makes the audience want to see the film to know the reasoning around the name.
Draft 2
I have uploaded my second draft below, having completed more of my trailer and included the feedback from my previous draft. At the beggining of the trailer I have included my two film company logo's which I made by drawing out the designs of paper, scanning them into the computer and using Adobe Flash CS4 and a Graphic Design Tablet to create them. I have also made the ending slightly clearer but have not yet changed the ending title scene. I am currently working on including sound effects into my third draft. I have however, included a voiceover at the end of this trailer. I added the voice over by voice recording a women, uploading it to my computer and adding it into Premiere Pro. I still need to work on adjusting the volume and placement of it within the trailer.
First Draft Feedback
After completing and posting my first draft I have asked three people from my target audience to comment on what they think I could improve on and if there was anything within the trailer they was specifically expecting to see but didn't.
